Wildcats 5 Telford 0
Three wins in a row for Swindon
After losing to Telford in their previous away game - Swindon were looking to make amends in their first home fixture.
A much more confident looking Swindon side took to the ice and had an immediate impact after just two and a half minutes when Lee Richardson scored to give the home side a 1-0 lead. Swindon’s second goal didn’t come until 10 minutes later when Joel Petkoff found the net with an excellent solo effort. Telford had no reply to either goal and the 1st period ended 2-0 to Swindon. With just 50 seconds gone of the second period, Swindon extended their lead to 3-0 through defenseman Jon Sitko. Cats held onto their 3 goal lead through a quieter second period. Telford came out in the final period looking to cut the deficit but with Kudrna giving, in my opinion, his best performance of the season they couldn’t find the net.
Swindon then scored there 4th goal through Aaron Nell. With 4minutes remaining Ciaron Long took the goal tally up to 5. After the goal was scored there was a scuffle between Nicky Watt and Telford defenseman Daniel Croft which resulted in both players being sent to the sin bin. The game ended with a 5-0 win for the home team, and a deserved Kudrna earning man of the match honours for Swindon.
